Sit back and listen to the sound that is ANOMALY
ABOUT THE ALBUM TRACKS
Safely Wasted – Sounds like a song about drugs and/alcohol but is instead about dealing with the mental after effects of child abuse. Specifically from there, it's about losing, then trying to get up again, and having to face the trouble and trauma of rebuilding after far too hard a life, beginning to think that it would simply be easier to let it all go to waste. (Heavy stuff, phew!) . Guitar & production wise, this has some Arabic scale experiments, and some multi layered melodies. This is the most outside, or alternative piece on the album.
Future Eaters – Lyrics are built around Tim Flannery's (Now THE man at SA museum) book by the same title. He's done vast amounts of research on the Australian (and other) environment/s. Guitar & production wise, this has some unique guitar sounds, and has had commercial radio play.
Nemesis – The lyrics speak for themselves. Guitar and production wise, this has a unique recoding process for the rhythm guitars (listen carefully in head phones) as the chord voicings have been broken up then recorded on separate tracks, then played back spread from one ear to the other. There were a few other production techniques I dabbled into with the guitar and vocals on this one, but I don't want to be long winded, just enjoy !
Tunguska – This is an instrumental that hits you with all the force of its namesake – that is a huge meteor that struck Russia in 1908. It felled 60 million trees over 2000 kms.

Musically and production wise, the song starts with a completely unique guitar note & sound, and is a good representation of Richie's ability to create his own sounds from scratch rather than use existing sounds or loops in his productions. This should be listened to LOUD!
http://www.cybersex - This is an award winning song with the ASA. It is very tongue in cheek with the lyrics, and went over well at every gig (so did the rest of the songs on this recording by the way, that's how they made it onto the EP!). Further this song should play with your head counting wise, it's unusual in that it is written using odd time signatures, but I have arranged the counter melodies to make it feel solid like a 4/4. Regurgitator's quirky release at the time had some influence on some production ideas.
Can't face The Day – The lyrics in this song are self evident, the tortured mood follows the head pounding - momentary release one endures the day after partying way too much. The guitars on this again show Richie's ability to invent and utilise new and unique guitar sounds. ALL the sound you will hear on this besides the standard bass, drums, and vocals, are guitar sounds created specifically for this song, so listen closely!
