ABOUT THE FIGHTER ACES
Colonel 'BUD' MAHURIN
One of the U.S.A.A.F's most colourful Fighter Aces, he survived 3 bail-outs to finish the war with 22 air victories, plus a further 3 1/2 in Korea.
Colonel DON BLAKESLEE
Joining the R.A.F in 1940, he transferred with the Eagles in 1942 to the U.S.A.A.F 4th Fighter Group. Described as "The best fighter leader the war produced"
Colonel ARTHUR C FIELDER
Arriving in Europe in 1944 he flew over 66 combat missions in the P-47 and P-51 ending the war with 8 confirmed victories. Later served with distinction in Korea and Vietnam.
Lieutenant Colonel CLYDE B EAST
Joining the R.C.A.F in 1941 he flew combat from England. Transferred to U.S.A.A.F in January 1944 flying over 200 combat missions with 141/2 victories in WWII. He later flew combat in Korea.
